UNDERCARD BACKSTORY

Undercard was born in Spokane, Washington, and has been a driving force in the local and regional rock scene since 2013. Over the years, we’ve shared the stage with an impressive roster of bands such as Powerman 5000, Saliva, Corrosion of Conformity, Tonight Alive, Hell’s Belles, Acidic, The Stone Foxes, Eye Empire, Bobaflex, Pvris, and more. The band's journey began with a fierce passion for music, fusing hard rock with emotionally charged lyrics that address mental health, personal struggles, and inner demons.

We’ve always believed in the power of music to connect people, especially when facing challenges. That belief has been at the core of our message, and our music is a direct reflection of the battles we’ve all fought, both individually and as a band. But, like all great stories, ours hasn’t been without obstacles.

During the pandemic, Undercard, like so many others, faced uncertainty and unexpected hardships. We had our equipment stolen, and like everyone, we found ourselves locked down, unable to perform or tour. These circumstances forced us to reevaluate our direction, and rather than fade away, we adapted. Recording became our focus as we transitioned from spending most of our time on stage to learning the art of producing our own tracks from home.

2024 marked a major shift for us. We embraced the challenge of producing our own music with a deeper understanding of recording techniques and home studio setups. This newfound freedom allowed us to pour more of ourselves into the music, without the restrictions of studio time or budget constraints. It also pushed us to connect more with fans virtually, engaging them with new content, and giving them a behind-the-scenes look at our creative process.

As we head into 2025, we’re more focused and determined than ever before. Our upcoming album, Show Me Your Darkness, reflects that. The album speaks directly to the struggles that so many people face but are often too afraid to talk about—mental health issues, personal battles, and the stigma that surrounds opening up about these experiences. We want to break those barriers and remind everyone that it’s okay to not be okay. It’s an album about opening up, sharing your story, and conquering the darkness that can often feel overwhelming.

One of the key things that sets us apart is that we’ve always been a grassroots band—no crowdfunding, no big label behind us. We’ve worked hard, and we’ve done this because we love it. We’ve had highs, like winning first place at the Big Dipper's Battle of the Bands, where we walked away with $5,000, and we’ve had lows, like losing our gear during the pandemic. But through it all, the fans have stuck with us, and that’s why we do it. We aren’t in it for the money; we do this because we believe in our message, and we believe in the music.

The new album isn’t just a musical release—it’s a statement. Show Me Your Darkness is about showing the world who we really are, embracing the parts of ourselves that we often try to hide, and fighting back against the negative forces in our lives. As we push forward, we’re ready to take things to the next level, and with the support of our fans, we’re more motivated than ever to share our music, our story, and our journey with the world.

Undercard has come back stronger after years of highs and lows, and we’re not stopping anytime soon. With a renewed energy, new music, and plans to keep pushing harder than ever, we’re heading into 2025 ready to spread our message of resilience, love, and fighting through the darkness.
