Undercard Set to Release ‘Show Me Your Darkness’ in Early 2025

Formed in 2013, Undercard has become a staple in the live music scene, bringing raw, impactful shows to bear throughout the Pacific Northwest. But even as we were devoted to our craft in a major way, it was our biggest barrier to entry: we never had the resources to professionally record our music. Now, a decade later-and with trials and tribulations strewn across our path-we are ready to unleash our debut full-length, “Show Me Your Darkness,” early in 2025.

This record is being recorded in our home studio, and we are taking the time that it needs to sound precisely as we have envisioned. Founding member Mike Forland (vocals and guitar), joined by Josh Eberhard on drums and Alex on bass, have dedicated themselves to writing songs that are outstanding in quality and composition. Each track on ‘Show Me Your Darkness’ is to be an expression of struggles I have faced, strength I have gained, and the hurt or difficulty that we have known in our lives. Weeeee, a blast, huh? lol Life. What a frickin mess!

For this album, we will have at least ten songs, including a reimagined version of our 2018 single titled “Solely Friend Reimagined.” This new version is hauntingly orchestral, with an absolutely different intensity and depth applied to this original track. We’re so excited!

Our journey has been utterly not an easy one. Since we formed, we have been dealing with a series of member changes. New members who were either less committed or did not share our vision. Now, we have the right lineup, and we feel more together and stronger than ever.

The COVID-19 pandemic reached us, and thus we had to cancel our first big tour. If the situation could not get worse, our former drummer stole our gear along with promotional tools. We did win the case that followed, but never saw our stuff again. There goes a big chunk of our morale, but we did not let that get to us. In 2018, two singles titled “Upper Hand” and “Solely Friend” were released to all streaming platforms on 31st October. Yet somehow, the system seems to work against us, and we have fought to gain real traction. That changes now. With “Show Me Your Darkness,” we adopt a new model: from now on, until the full launch at the beginning of 2025, one single from the album will be put out each month until we release the full album!. Undercard has always been about persistence. For us, this music is the call across the void, where we can point out the overcoming of obstacles, abuse, and chaos in the world. The algorithms may not be on our side, and the industry may be somewhat adversarial, but it won’t stop anything. We know we have been the underdog for far too long, and we understand that it is only a matter of time before the people understand the power trio we are.

2025 marks a whole new chapter for us, and quite frankly, we can’t wait to rise. “Show Me Your Darkness” is the album we have always wanted to create, and we can’t wait for the world to finally hear it.
